· Mr. Ruchir Ravi Arora, head of Customer Care Department sits in all management meetings and disseminates confidential information to staff of customer care, especially to some of his favoured personnel. These people leak information discussed in the meetings, thereby setting an unhealthy precedent. If confidential information is in the habit of being leaked to others as such, it would spoil the competitive edge; thereby Wataniya’s rival would be in a position to take all the advantages.
· In recent developings, it was discovered that Mr. Ruchir spends most of his working hours with the interim CEO Mr. Yasser, chatting away incessantly the whole day, probably magnifying significantly, the services rendered by a few of his favoured staff. An example of such happenings is described below. In the mobile fair held 2006 August in Dharubaaruge, four mobile telephones were stolen. After an investigation conducted to recover the lost mobiles, it was discovered that this despicable act of dishonesty was conducted by one of Ruchir’s pet boys Mohamed Shamoon ID: 1152. Three of the lost pieces of handsets were recovered, found in possession of one of Shamoon’s close friends. The fourth one was never recovered. At this juncture, to defend Mr. Shamoon, Ruchir stated that the incident of stolen telephones would be best swept under the carpet. It came to no surprise, at all, that since Shamoon is the pet boy of Ruchir, he would not heisitate to do anything to safeguard Shamoon, even if Wataniya’s sales was at stake.
Why Ruchir was hired
· Mr. Ruchir, the son of Regional Manager of the State Bank of India was hired, for none other than, to pave way for procuring easy loans from the State Bank of India using Ruchir as a tool.
· Customer care personnel were given a lavish performance allowance while other departments were not considered. Remunerations given to customer care personnel amounted to large sums of money, some being given over MRF.15,000 a heavily biased act considering hard working staff in other departments.
Voice campaign
· This is a service that is tentatively thought of being launched in early months of 2007. However, this inside information of Wataniya has been out in the street and Wataniya’s competitor has already taken full advantage of the service and has taken action.

i think these issues are real issues, which needs to be rolled over to see the magnitude of it. if these issues are affecting the staff performance, who is to blame? is it the C.E.O or Ruchir? or HR? I think Wataniya International should be more serious on this.

there was a rumor inside wataniya that ruchir is gonna be the new c.e.oh within three months time. what wull happen when an imature person such as ruchir become a ceo.

been their man...its hell in wataniya!!!..
our country lost a lot cos of wataniya. there were much better operators who should have won the bid. like airtel from india and malaysian telecom. look at their operations and look at how wataniya is in maldives. I don't think wataniya services come close to the expectation of us. I don't think they know the stuff they are dealing with. Or maybe they don't know the local market. anyhow wataniya sucks now. now i am getting to understand why.
